7 00:00:16,347 --> 00:00:18,682 Old enemies have to become allies, 8 00:00:18,702 --> 00:00:20,582 and the Rocinante crew is right 9 00:00:20,602 --> 00:00:21,707 in the middle. 10 00:00:21,727 --> 00:00:24,607 Three stories carry us through both halves. 11 00:00:24,627 --> 00:00:25,899 Spoilers ahead! 12 00:00:26,648 --> 00:00:29,453 Story one: Avasarala and Bobbie. 13 00:00:29,473 --> 00:00:31,628 They escape from Jules-Pierre Mao's yacht 14 00:00:31,648 --> 00:00:34,568 with proof that Errinwright is behind the war. 15 00:00:34,588 --> 00:00:36,068 He has convinced Earth's leaders 16 00:00:36,088 --> 00:00:37,988 to strike Mars first. 17 00:00:38,053 --> 00:00:38,683 But the two of them 18 00:00:38,703 --> 00:00:40,758 are cut off from Earth and hunted, 19 00:00:40,778 --> 00:00:42,333 with their message blocked, 20 00:00:42,353 --> 00:00:44,908 and nobody in power wants to listen. 21 00:00:44,928 --> 00:00:45,729 They need a ship, 22 00:00:45,749 --> 00:00:48,048 a signal, and a friend. 23 00:00:48,068 --> 00:00:50,923 Bobbie's armor and Avasarala's stubbornness keep them 24 00:00:50,943 --> 00:00:53,356 alive long enough to find all three. 25 00:00:53,991 --> 00:00:55,546 They find the Rocinante, 26 00:00:55,566 --> 00:00:56,746 and help on Earth comes 27 00:00:56,766 --> 00:00:58,109 from Anna Volovodov, 28 00:00:58,129 --> 00:01:01,756 a pastor who finds Errinwright's own recordings. 29 00:01:01,776 --> 00:01:04,606 Secretary-General Sorrento-Gillis hears it straight 30 00:01:04,626 --> 00:01:06,781 from his own advisor's mouth. 31 00:01:06,801 --> 00:01:08,181 The truth gets out, 32 00:01:08,201 --> 00:01:09,596 Errinwright is arrested, 33 00:01:09,616 --> 00:01:11,221 and the war stops. 34 00:01:11,241 --> 00:01:13,546 Mars and Earth count the cost. 35 00:01:13,566 --> 00:01:15,666 And Avasarala, back in charge, 36 00:01:15,686 --> 00:01:17,566 makes a surprising choice: 37 00:01:17,586 --> 00:01:19,966 she offers peace instead of revenge. 38 00:01:20,715 --> 00:01:23,195 Story two: the Rocinante. 39 00:01:23,215 --> 00:01:24,945 Prax still believes his daughter Mei 40 00:01:24,965 --> 00:01:26,870 is alive, and he's right. 41 00:01:26,890 --> 00:01:28,645 The trail leads to Io, 42 00:01:28,665 --> 00:01:30,645 where Jules-Pierre Mao built a lab 43 00:01:30,665 --> 00:01:33,445 to turn the protomolecule into a weapon. 44 00:01:33,465 --> 00:01:35,900 Amos, Bobbie, and the crew land, 45 00:01:35,920 --> 00:01:36,975 fight their way in, 46 00:01:36,995 --> 00:01:39,400 and rescue Mei and the other children. 47 00:01:39,420 --> 00:01:42,075 Prax finally holds his daughter again. 48 00:01:42,095 --> 00:01:44,751 Doctor Strickland's experiments end for good. 49 00:01:45,422 --> 00:01:46,052 But the lab 50 00:01:46,072 --> 00:01:49,152 has already launched hybrid pods toward Mars, 51 00:01:49,172 --> 00:01:51,327 each one a monster in a missile. 52 00:01:51,347 --> 00:01:54,527 They're stealthy and nearly impossible to track. 53 00:01:54,547 --> 00:01:57,052 The crew switches the pods' transponders back 54 00:01:57,072 --> 00:01:58,512 on, so Mars 55 00:01:58,532 --> 00:02:00,637 and the Belt can shoot them down. 56 00:02:00,657 --> 00:02:03,012 Almost all of them are stopped. 57 00:02:03,032 --> 00:02:04,812 One reaches Earth's flagship, 58 00:02:04,832 --> 00:02:05,987 the Agatha King, 59 00:02:06,007 --> 00:02:07,465 and the ship is lost. 60 00:02:08,204 --> 00:02:10,134 Story three: the Ring. 61 00:02:10,154 --> 00:02:12,309 The protomolecule on Venus rises, 62 00:02:12,329 --> 00:02:13,759 flies out past Uranus, 63 00:02:13,779 --> 00:02:15,534 and builds a huge Ring. 64 00:02:15,554 --> 00:02:16,459 It just sits there, 65 00:02:16,479 --> 00:02:18,909 silent, and that's what makes it scary. 66 00:02:18,929 --> 00:02:21,869 Earth, Mars, and the Belt all send ships. 67 00:02:21,889 --> 00:02:23,319 Drummer and Ashford command 68 00:02:23,339 --> 00:02:25,969 the Belt's giant ship, the Behemoth. 69 00:02:25,989 --> 00:02:27,594 Anna joins Earth's fleet, 70 00:02:27,614 --> 00:02:28,744 and Clarissa Mao, 71 00:02:28,764 --> 00:02:31,419 Julie's sister, sneaks along with a plan 72 00:02:31,439 --> 00:02:33,066 for revenge on Holden. 73 00:02:33,754 --> 00:02:35,634 Through the Ring is a strange station 74 00:02:35,654 --> 00:02:37,084 with a speed limit. 75 00:02:37,104 --> 00:02:39,134 It treats every ship as a threat, 76 00:02:39,154 --> 00:02:41,359 and anything that moves too fast gets 77 00:02:41,379 --> 00:02:43,059 frozen in place. 78 00:02:43,079 --> 00:02:45,109 Ashford wants to destroy the station, 79 00:02:45,129 --> 00:02:48,034 but Holden, guided by a ghostly Miller, 80 00:02:48,054 --> 00:02:50,834 gets every ship to power down instead. 81 00:02:50,854 --> 00:02:53,574 Even Clarissa, who came to ruin Holden, 82 00:02:53,594 --> 00:02:55,824 flips the switch that saves them. 83 00:02:55,844 --> 00:02:57,124 Then, all around them, 84 00:02:57,144 --> 00:02:58,327 new gates open. 85 00:02:59,069 --> 00:03:00,474 Season three ends 86 00:03:00,494 --> 00:03:02,399 with the gates wide open: 87 00:03:02,419 --> 00:03:04,099 more than a thousand doorways 88 00:03:04,119 --> 00:03:05,999 to new star systems. 89 00:03:06,019 --> 00:03:08,494 Humanity survived its own war, 90 00:03:08,514 --> 00:03:10,469 and the three powers stood together long 91 00:03:10,489 --> 00:03:11,594 enough to find a path 92 00:03:11,614 --> 00:03:13,044 to the stars. 93 00:03:13,064 --> 00:03:14,594 On the other side of those gates 94 00:03:14,614 --> 00:03:17,419 are worlds no human has ever seen. 95 00:03:17,439 --> 00:03:18,994 The solar system just got 96 00:03:19,014 --> 00:03:20,054 a lot bigger, 97 00:03:20,074 --> 00:03:22,185 and the adventure is only beginning.
